We bought a cabin!
My grandparents owned cabins (2!) when I was growing up and it was one of the best things about my childhood. They sold 1 when I was a teen in order to add on to the other and now the entire family has taken over that cabin. But I can’t change anything… too many cooks in that kitchen 😉
My husband grew up spending a lot of time in the outdoors and has always wanted a cabin. Now that we have 3 active kids, a home base in nature sounds amazing!
In our area cabins for sale are rare, or they are really houses with full amenities and large price tags. We definitely didn’t have the budget for a second home so we scoured listings for years waiting for the right property to come up for sale. And then it happened! This cabin is in one of our favourite areas and, while it has a gorgeous view of a small lake, it is not ON the lake. It has electricity but no running water. And it is not pretty. Which is perfect…
